The Fairhope Nature preserve was dedicated on Saturday, April 30, 2011. The Canton community celebrated the dedication of the preserve by planting trees, cutting a grapevine “ribbon”, stocking fish, while enjoying crafts refreshments.

The Clean Ohio funds obtained for this project can only be used to preserve and protect valuable natural resources such as wetlands, streams, woodlands, etc. Funds for this preserve can be used for passive recreation such as biking, fishing, hiking, etc.

Did you know that there are seven walking trails in the nature preserve? Most trail lengths are under a half mile; perfect for a casual stroll through nature.

The preserve also has a shelter that is available for rental. The shelter holds a maximum capacity of 100 people and includes an onsite charcoal grill. The shelter is $40.00 per day for residents and $50.00 per day for non-residents. The scenery surrounding the shelter is ideal for a spring, summer, or fall get-together. Reserve the shelter by visiting, or by visiting our office located at 1414 Market Ave North. For shelter available dates, call our office at 330-456-4521.
